Here's the Lake George Photo for the painting assignment (Thursday class):
Sometimes we need to focus! Since I imagine most of us are familiar with Georgia O'keeffes flowers and skulls, I've elected to look at her landscapes. See the images below, and also take a look at an online selection of her New Mexico landscapes. WQhen painting in oils, she painted thinly giving the appearance of watercolors with well-controlled washes.

The beginning of a list of characteristics of her style:
- Bright colors
- Bold abstract shapes with a gradation of value and hue within the shapes
- Interesting cropping
- Flattening of image, emphasizing design within the composition
